Hello Jeanette! My name is Carol Tactac and John Waters Beeson and Martha Joiner Beeson were my great-grandparents. The records I have show that John Waters Beeson was born on 7/18/1836 and died on 7/25/1908. Martha was born in 1841 & died in 1884. Molly Cleaves Beeson was his second wife. She was born in 1842 & died in 1900. John & Martha had four children from what my mom says: Joab, John, James & Lydia. Joab is my grandfather (my mom's father). My Grandpa Beeson (Joab) married Sarah Elizabeth Evans, but everyone called her Sally. She was born on 1/31/1894 & died on 3/23/1980. My grandparents (Joab & Sarah Beeson) had 9 children: James, Zuma, Arthur, Lucille, Floy Mae, Dorothy, Travis, Jewel & Floyd. Floy Mae is MY mother. She is 90 years old and lives in FL with my older brother. All the other brothers & sisters are deceased. She told me that my Grandpa Joab Beeson (her father) had a 1/2 brother named Andrew Calvin Beeson, who married Iona Willett. They had a couple daughters and a son she thinks. I believe he is the son of Great-Grandpa John Waters Beeson & Molly Cleaves. My mom seems to think the daughters' names are Carmen & Alarie (sp?)...she can't remember...she's 90 after all! HAHA Anyway...she thinks they had a son too, but she can't remember his name. As far as the monument in Callaway Cemetary...my mom says she doesn't know if he's buried there or not. There has always been some confusion from what I can understand about where he is buried, so I cannot be sure. If you can add to this in any way, please let me know. Thanks!
