Thanks for the information on the Beeson book. I'll try to look it up, but since you last saw it in the 1980s, it probably is out of print and probably can't be found in the St. Louis, MO area.
My Moffitts are from the North Carolina area.
Charles Moffitt who married Mary Beeson, was from Buffalo Ford, Randolph County, NC. His parents were Charles Moffitt Sr. and Mary Cox. Charles Moffitt Jr and Mary Beeson's children were:

Nathan C. Whitehead; Catherine 'Caty' b. 25 July 1808 d. 7 Oct 1865 m. Auther Hobson; Nezariah b. 29 Oct 1810 d. after 1833; Jane Thompson b. 28 Feb 1816; Solomon Calvin b. 23 March 1818 d. 9 July 1891 m. 22 Aug 1842 Mary D. 'Polly' Barker; Frances 'Fanny' Ritty b. 14 July 1820 d. after 1838; Charles T. b. 29 Sept 1822 d. March 1823 died as an infant; Stancil b. 23 march 1824 d. 4 March 1908 m. 20 Nov 1844 Deborah Lusania Barker; Jonathan b. 8 Aug 1826 m. Julian Lacy.
I'm through Charles and Mary's child - Alfred D. Moffitt who married Rebecca Caveness.
