Who was Jesse G Beeson?

Hello,
Perhaps some one can help me solve an old mystery!

We found a very old scrap of paper tucked in our Thomas family bible with the following written in a very fancy script - "Jepe G. Beeson April 19, AD 1828".

We have always thought this note was written by Nancy Rambo who was the wife of Jackson Rambo, and the mother of Damaris Rambo, because this was the full text of the note:

1st line - "Damaris Rambo you was born on the"
2nd line - "29th of October AD 1796"
3rd line - "The coming of life is gone"
4th line - "The decline comes hastning on"

5th line - "Jepe G. Buson April 19th, AD 1828"

I know that Jepe was a nickname for Jesse, and I did find a 1880 census entry for a Jesse G. Beeson who was a 72 year old farmer living in La Grange, Cass, Michigan at that time. This entry lists his birth state as Indiana which also tracks with my Rambo ancestors who lived in Indiana as well.

Would be delighted if any one can add any details to this person.
