Yes, it does appear that the Beery forum has lost interest. Accessing it is easy, posting requires a "log in" ID. A few years back, anyone could join in the forum without having to pay for membership. Now that "Ancestry" has taken over the "genforum", new visitors have to become a member which comes with a "fee"! So, I am assuming that this is one of the reasons that this forum has become "dead"!?
