I've been overwhelmed by the amount of information about the Beery family I've found. The Beery 275th Anniversary Reunion started it all. I've used the 1957 family history as a starting point, but I've hit a roadblock concerning a Daniel Beery in my direct ancestry from the Fairfield/Hocking County area. Here is what I have: Daniel Beery b. ? d. ? (son of Christian Beery (b. 1777, d. 1836) and Catharine [Frank]; gson of Abraham Beery (b. 1736, d. 1799) and Elizabeth [Gochenour]) m. date? Mary "Polly" Hansen (or Hensel) (b? d?) Their child, my ancestor was Daniel M Beery (served in the Civil War) b. 15 Jun 1845, Hocking Co, OH d. 1 Jul 1897, S. Bloomingville, OH m. 19 Mar 1867 to Sarah Mowery (b.1844 d.1923) I've found the younger Daniel and and his wife Sarah's gravestone in the Mowery family plot at Tarlton, Pickaway Co, OH. But there are no other Beerys in that cemetery. Daniel, the elder, is my 3g-grandfather. I've been unable to find a mention of him in county records (my search has not been exhaustive, yet). I was wondering if anyone had come across this Daniel in their searches. At some point, and I figure it is either the elder Daniel or Christian, our family line ceased to be Mennonite. I have to assume this is the reason very little information exists for this line. Thanks for your time. If you want more information for my line, I am in the process of collecting as much data as possible for the descentants of Philip Louis Beery, son of Daniel M Beery. We have almost all stayed in the Scioto River Valley of Ohio. Brian Beery Notify Administrator about this message?
