Anna Friesner Beery and her twin sons are buried at the Beery (Antioch) Cemetery, 3 miles west of Decatur, Adams, IN. Anna Friesner Beery has a simple stone with her vital statistics plus the notation, "Not dead, but sleeping". Poignant little markers are at either side of her stone, badly worn, but clearly showing the names of her twins, Jonas and Jesse.

Joseph Logan Beery, Sr. (Aug. 23, 1820 - Apr 5, 1887) and Anna Friesner (July 25, 1825 - June 25, 1860) were married Oct 20, 1842 in Bremen, Fairfield, OH. Fairfield, OH was the birthplace of both of them. After the birth of their first son, William Francis Marion Beery (Aug 28, 1843 - Feb 6, 1909), the young family moved to Washington Twp, Adams, IN. They owned land in Section 7 of Washington, Twp. By 1858, Anna had born 7 more children after the move to Indiana. The third of these was Solomon Forest Beery, I (Oct 31, 1846 - May 16, 1905), from whom I descend. On May 27, 1860, Anna gave birth to twins. Jonas died June 5, Anna on June 25, and Jesse on July 1.

The Beery Antioch Cemetery is on the northeast corner of CR 500N and 300W. The land for the Beery Antioch Church formerly located here, and the adjoining cemetery, was given by the Eli Beery family, early settlers of Adams County, IN. Eli Beery (1817 - 1880) was the son of Joseph Beery (1790 - 1848). This Joseph (1790 - 1848) and Christian Beery (1792 - 1859) were brothers -- the first two sons of Nicholas Beery, Jr. (1739 - 1811) and his second wife, Mary Grow Good (b abt 1755). This, Eli and Joseph Logan Beery were first cousins.

After Anna's death, Joseph Logan Beery married Elizabeth Boerstler and they moved to Shambaugh, Page, IA. Five more children were born to this second marriage.
