Hi there,
Captain Richard Beers was leading 36 men to help the city of Hadley, Massachusetts in fighting the indians during King Philips war. On the way they were interupted by a battle in Deerfield , Massachusetts. Only 16 people survived, Beers was killed. Of the sixteen, my ggggggg-grandfather John Shattuck was selected to go to Boston and inform the Governor of the skirmish. I am trying to find more information on John and am aware of an engraving of The Capt. and John chasing an Indian up a tree. I have no more Beers info. Just searching for the print.HELP ??
