Hi Jacqui I have been doing research into Be family for some years and have come across allsorts origins of the name. 1) Simply from the trade, ie they sold beer. 2) Of German origin- a sailor who settled in South Devon. 3) A person from the village of Beer in East Devon. I like to think its the last - but who knows. My interest is in the link with my original family name of BURNER-BEER from the Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Dartington, Totnes areas. Cheers Phil
