Beer family 1891 Exeter, St Davids

Hi. I am hoping that someone will be able to link this family to their own to prove or disprove their connection to my own.

I have been stuck forever on my 2xg grandparents, Alfred John and Eliza Beer from South Molton.
I thought they were both South Molton born and bred, but tracking Alfred through the 1881 census has not been easy.

I used freecen to search the 1891 census, and that returned only one Alfred John Beer, living at 54 Hoopern St, St Davids, Exeter.
His parents were John and Emma, and he had 2 sisters called Mabel and Elsie.
I have traced this Alfred in 1881, and he is with John's parents in Doddiscombleigh, Devon, along with his mum and older sister Florence, aged 8.
(In 1891, there is a grandson, Wallace Beer, who I would assume to be Florence' son)

If any of you link into this family and know that this Alfred did not marry an Eliza and move to South Molton, I'd be grateful if you could get in touch so I can resume my search!

The main reason I think this could be the man I am looking for is that my Alfred had children called Mabel and Emma, both names which crop up in the Exeter family.
Tenuous, I know, but it's a start!!

Thanks for all and any help.

Tonia
