Hello Vivian:

I wanted to let you know I have a William Beer, b. 1801 in Devonshire (exact location unknown). William came to Canada, specifically Erin Township, Wellington County, ON in about 1832. He married Mary Kirkwood in Ontario in 1840 and they had 2 sons William Kirkwood and George Beer. Despite my search I have been unable to find out where William was born in Devonshire. But apparently he had 2 other brothers who came to Canada (one named George and another unknown). William's family in Devonshire were apparently fruit farmers. William farmed in Erin Township until his death in 1894.

Please let me know if you have any ideas. Regards, Ellen
