Rachel Beene/Bean was born in Oct of 1837 in Ala., her parents were born in TN. I would like to learn who they were and/or if and who her siblings were, as well. We think she was at least, half American Indian who have a trait of blue eyes.
Lookin' to find the parents and /or any siblings of John Nichols, who was born 1837 in TN. His parents were born in GA -
Rachel J. Beene/Bean and John C. Nichols were married Feb. 25, 1858 in Tishomingo, Miss. and had four children, that they basically raised up in and around Searcy Co., Arkansas. They may have lived some of the time in Marion, Newton, & Boone Co's. too. John C. Nichols was murdered in late 1880, after the census was taken and Rachel remarried a John Parton/Parten, who had a number of kids, I'd like to learn who they were - but Rachel and John Parton/Parten were married Dec. 29th 1881 in Boone Co., AR. Later they moved to OK where most of his kids were, until he left this life - at which time Rachel move back to AR to live with her son Charley.
Anything - additional - someone might know or share would be tremendous!!
The first two of Rachel Beene/Bean & John Nichols' children I have very little on, and hope to connect with someone on them.
1. Nancy Lyda Tennessee, b. 1863 in AR - married a Dr. Skaggs??? They moved to Oklahoma - around Sulphur Springs and had at least two girls ???
2. John L., b. 1867 in TN married Miss Leigh/Lea ? They lived in Oklahoma too, had a boy and a girl. The girl's name was Lectia. I think the boy's name was Lydus, but guessing.
3. Charley Monroe, b. Jan 31, 1869 in AR married Margaret Aletha Orr and farmed in the Searcy Co. area, raising 10 children there. Both buried in Western Grove Cemetery, Newton Co. AR.
4. James Marion, b. Jan 17, 1875 in AR married Ora Amberzine Dugger, then her sister Bertha Ellen, and moved to Texas. Ora bore eight of his children before she left this life, and Bertha brought one with, and bore three more. Ora is buried Glenco Cem., AR. James and Bertha buried in Bold Springs Cemetery, TX.
