The parents of Thomas Beeman, who married Phebe Parke in Preston, New London Co., CT, then settled in Kent, Litchfield Co., CT, has not been determined. Simon Beman/Beeman and Alice Young of Springfield, MA had a son Thomas born in 1660, but that is most likely to early a birth date to make him the same as Thomas of Preston and Kent. The area of New London Co., CT was originally settled by people from Wethersfield, CT, Saybrook, CT, and Rhode Island. There are no known Springfield, MA families to have settled in that area at the time our Thomas would have appeared. Some have the notion that Thomas was a son of a Capt. Daniel Beeman and his wife who was either named Sarah or Ruth. Thomas and Phebe did name two of their children Daniel and Ruth, which makes for a convenient connection, but there are no known records, as least that I have found (if someone knows of any I'd like to hear of them) of a Daniel Beeman, who would be Thomas's father, in Connecticut or Rhode Island at the time Thomas appears. So at this point, Daniel as Thomas's father can only be speculation, nothing has been proved.
