D.C. You seem to be very knowledgeable about the Beekman ancestry. My father has always claimed that our family is descended from a Henry Beekman from the Netherlands. This "Henry" came to America in about 1649 to become a blacksmith for the Van Rensselaer family of Hudson Valley, NY. He also states that "Henry" was the first Beekman to immigrate to America. My sources state that Wilhelmus was the first Beekman to come to America. Can you shed any light on the story of Henry Beekman the blacksmith? Thank you, Marcia Kincaid
