John Jefferson is probablyJonathan Jefferson Whited who is mentioned in the settlement of the estate of his father James Whited in Shelby County, Indiana. I ran into him while I was doing research on John Whited who appears to be James's brother. Jonathan uses the name J. J. in legal records, etc. in Shelby County and I have a census record with J. J. and Philena living next door to Francis and Mary Ann Whited. Philena and Mary Ann are sisters and J. J. and Francis (James Francis) are cousins. I would share the source documents if you would like them.
