I admire your search and wish you well. But I suggest that it be expanded. The Mason Dixon line was about 1763 and established the southern Pennsylvania boundry. Joseph was born reportedly in 1749. Looking at the map Morgantown, WV is not far (less than 15 miles) from the southern boundry of Pennsylvania. There was no West Virginia when Joseph was born. Also, Washington County Pennsylvan was larger than it is today. It contained a village of Morgan (now in Greene County) which is another possibility. A map is available at the Washington county gen site. I do not believe the Morgantown you mention existed in 1749.
