Hi George,
I am William Robert Beecroft. There is a George Vernon Beecroft in our family tree. He was born 1857, the 8th of 10 children of William Robert (M. Mary Cosgrove, 1842) and died sometime after 1896.His grandfather was Richard Beecroft, and I believe he came to Australia as a convict in the third fleet in 1791. In 1816 Richard married Cathryn Belbin in Hobart, Tasmania, and they had 4 children, one of which was born posthumously after Richard was drowned at Risdon cove in 1819 while trying to save another man. There is no other George listed in our family tree, but the recurrence of William and Robert in your family suggests that there may be some connection.
