Marie Beecroft marries Wm. Walker in Yorkshire..emigrated
Hello to all Beecrofts;
I have the obituary of Marie Walker, nee Beecroft from the Windsor Star, Windsor, Ontario, Canada in front of me now.
"Mrs. Marie Walker, wife of ex-Alderman, William Walker, who was a resident of Windsor for the past thirty six years (I believe they emigrated in or about 1868) is dead. Deceased has been in good health and was visiting Mrs. Turner (?) when taken with a paralytic stroke on Tuesday November 15, 1904. She died the following day (Nov. 16, 1904). Deceased was born August 11, 1834 at Armley, near Teeds (Leeds?), Yorkshire County, England. Her maiden name was Marie Beecroft. Having married Mr. Walker, they came to this county (Canada) and have been residents of Windsor ever since. Mrs. Walker was a Methodist. She is survived by her husband and four sons: William, Frederick, Joseph, Harry of Windsor, and two daughters: Mrs. Charles Francomb of Detroit and Mrs. Patrick Downs of Windsor. Services were conducted at the house of by Rev. Alfred Brown and burial was in Windsor Grove Cemetery,"
The words in brackets are mine, Mark Bradley. I am the great great grandson of the above. My line goes through William Maltby Walker-Elizabeth Walker, their son George Henry Walker-Ella Pearl Stokes, daughter Doris A. Walker marrying Lewis George Bradley, all of Windsor including myself.
Going through another database I also came across death records Beecroft's; Mary Beecroft wife of Daniel Beecroft, died July 10, 1896, Daniel Beecroft died February 23, 1901 all in Windsor. Also came across death records for two children by the same that died almost at birth.
I am new at trying to figure out the Beecroft line, the Walkers I believe come from the area of Huddersfield Yorkshire.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Mark Bradley
