Jake Beecham was Jacob L. Beecham, born December 1866 in Illinois. He was married to Amanda Shriver (born September 1867). They married January 10, 1889 in Cherokee County, Kansas. Amanda died sometime between 1910-1915, probably in Cherokee County.
I do not have any proof but believe that Jacob was the son of John and Georgianna Beecham of Illinois. He had siblings, one being Alberta Grace Beecham who married Joseph Coplin in Cherokee County. John Beecham served with the 25th IL Infantry Regiment - enlisting as a private and leaving as a Sergeant. He died about 1887 and his wife filed for a widow's pension in Kansas. Georgianna remarried to Hugh L. Porter in Cherokee County about 1890. She died sometime after 1910.
