Dear Lorna,

thank you very much, I have now some data to look for. I will look for registers of the School of Mines.

As I told you, we have here a book sent to Verdin from his mother:

Sanford, John I., The Black Hills Souvernir. A Pictorial and Historic Description of the Black Hills, Denver, Williamson-Haffner Engraving, 1902.

It is dedicated and says:

"April 10th 1903. Spearfield, South Dakota/ To Verdin Alexander from his Momma with her love"

Once again I offer you to send a scan of it as well of Curtis' exlibris.

Greetings from Mexico
