Alfred Beebe b 1838 in Mo, son of George & Mahala

I find Alfred BEEBE age 18 on the 1856 state census for POLK, IOWA living with his father George and Hester (George's 2nd wife)
On 1885 State Census for Des Moines, Polk, Iowa I find
Alfred BEEBE age 47 and Eliza age 39 b. Ohio.
Couldn't find them anywhere else. I believe Alfred was the son of George and 1st wife Mahala Stevens.
