My great great grandfather, Lathrop(Lothrop) Beebe was born in 1822 in Cattagus Co New York. He married Abigail Hancock, dau of Jabez Hancock, Dec 25, 1845, at her home 2 miles from Elton. He had 3 children while in New York, Alanson, Anna and Ernest Clinton.
He enlisted in the Civil War in Feb 1862 at Yorkshire Corners listing his home as Freedom, Cattaragus Co NY. Health problems caused his discharge a few months later. By 1864 he was in Downsville Wisconsin working for a lumber company. He homesteaded land in Barron Co and died in 1886. I am trying to make a proved connection to his parents. I think that this is Charles Beebe of Freedom township, Cattaragus Co NY. Alan Henry gave me the name of Charles as likely to be his father.
