Extracted from the delightful book "Ring Around The Punch Bowl: The Story of the Beebe Woods in Falmouth on Cape Cod" by George L Moses
Willliam S. Sullwold Publishing, Inc, Taunton, Massachusetts 1991

James Madison Beebe

Parents: Levi and Sarah (Pierson) Beebe farmers in Western Mass.

"All of the Beebe children were named for various members of their mother's family, except for James Arthur and Edward Pierson." These two dropped their first names and used only their middle names for their adult life.

Emily B. Beebe (1836 - 1916) never married & resided most of her life with 2 of her unmarried brothers, E. Pierson (1843 - 1926) and Frank (1853 - 1932).

Mary Louisa Beebe died at age 46 years. (1837 - 1883)

Charles Edwin (1839 - 1866) remained a bachelor, is referred to as a banker and died in Nice, France.

Frances Lathrop (1841-1890) married in 1866 George Jenckes Fiske (1829-1868)
1.George Stanley Fiske (1837-1936)
2.Esther Lathrop (1868-1955)

3) 4 other children

James Arthur Beebe (1846-1914) married Emily Appleton (1846-1911)
1.Arthur Appleton Beebe (1872-1900)
2.Emily Esther Beebe (1878-1913)
3.Charles Philip Beebe (1884 - )

If this is your family, or is connected to your family, I would recommend this book as an easy way to see how they lived. It is written in a light-hearted, breezy style that appears to be well-researched. Beebe Woods was their "summer place" and this is the story of how it came to be and what it is today.
