Any BEE-HAMMOND Connections In GA?

I've been researching my HAMMOND line in GA, and have run across BEE used several times as a middle name for males in the family. There are two Boswell B(ee) HAMMONDs and at least two George BEE HAMMONDs, plus a BEE HAMMOND, also male. I haven't been able to find the BEE connection, other than it being used regularly as a middle name in the family in the early 1800s-1890s. Perhaps they were simply honoring the name of Confederate Gen. BEE. However, the early 1800 BEEs in the HAMMOND family line would surely be named for another reason. If anyone researching the BEE family runs across a connection to the HAMMOND line, in either VA, SC, NC or esp. GA., please let me know. I would really like to solve the "BEE mystery"!
