Gerneral Bernard Elliot Bee, the son of Col. Bernard E. Bee and Ann Wragg Faysoux (sp), was born 1824 in Charleston, Charleston, South Carolina. He, his elder brother Hamilton, and their father went to Texas in 1837. General Bee went to Westpoint and served in the Mexican war. General Bee was killed at Manassas 21 July 1861 and is buried in Pendleton County with his parents. I think that Bee County Texas was named for the General. The South Carolina Historical Society has quite a large file on the South Carolina Bee Family.
