My ggg grandparents were Thomas B and Dolly (Cox) Smith, 1802 & 1806 -ca 1895. In the 1860 Bledsoe Co, TN census, Hiram and Martha (Davis) Bedwell had two daughters named Catherine b 1832 and Melissa b 1840. Smith family history lists Melissa as the 2nd spouse of John G Smith, and I believe Catherine to be the 2nd spouse of James M Smith, John and James were the two oldest sons of TB and Dolly.
James M was my gg grandfather, and I am trying to establish the validity of Catherine Bedwell as being my gg grandmother. James M's son, James Thomas was my g grandfather, my grandfather was his son, Robert Ross Smith, Robert's dau, Mary Ellen Smith was my mother.
I would welcome any information either supportive or non-supportive of these connections.
