pg. 25 - BEDWELL Family - 4th Generation:
12. THOMAS BEDWELL, son of James Bedwell.
Thomas Bedwell m. Jemima (Johnson?)
After a brief stay in NC, Thomas and Jemima returned to Kent Co., DE in 1775 with all their children except Caleb. Thomas left a will dated 23 Feb 1794 which named the following ch:
Thomas b. ca 1769 m. Mary Lovitt 28 Jan 1790;
George b. ca 1770
James Johnson Bedwell b. ca 1772
Preston Bedwell b. ca 1774
Sarah Bedwell b. ca 1775 m. Wm. Jones 5 Mar 1793
Elizabeth b. ca 1776 m. Thomas Stant 8 Mar 1792 had dau named Easter.
Caleb b. ca 1777

I have a dogeared copy of the book "Calendar of Kent Co., DE Probate Records" by DeValinger.
pg. 549 . . Stant, Zadok. Admin to Elias Jarrell. Feb 27,1799. Arch. vol. A48, pg 145-146. Reg of Wills, Liber N,folio 228.
Note: Arch vol. A48, pg. 148 mentions heirs Thomas & Goldsberry Stant, Elizabeth Bedwell, Katty Parvis & Margaret Rash.
Bedwells were neighbors of my Ratledge family there in Murderkill Hundred, Kent Co., DE. My James Ratledge to Rowan Co., NC 1786. His brother Moses Ratledge also came to Rowan in 1786 and later returned to Kent Co., DE and died there 1804. Moses dau Nancy m. Joseph Stant.
