Kathryn,
I am interested in the possible connection between the Bedgood family and the Glover family of Washington Co GA.
Is is possible that you could email me at [email protected] with some info about the Bedgood family.
I have been researching Glover's of Virginia for awhile, and the Bidgood's, Brantley's & Glovers of that area are of interest to me, as well as any that might have migrated to GA
In particular........
A. Glover was living in 1830 Washington Co GA.
He was 30-39 and had a son of 0-5. He was a widower, so I assume that he might remarry soon
A. Glover was missing in 1840, but seems to be replaced with Mary Glover, a widow?, who appears to have a son age 10-15.She could be 40 years old.
Also new that year in Washington Co was Benjamin Glover and his family. He might have been a brother to A. Glover, but I am really in the dark about this family.
In 1850, Mary Glover age 50 was living in Emmanuel Co GA next door to Henry W. Bedgood, age 25 and his family.
She appears to be living with her son/stepson Ben G. Glover, age 22 and his wife and 2 daughters.
Henry W. Bedgood had married Elizabeth Crawford in Washington Co 15 Oct 1846, then moved to Emmanuel Co.
Based on the 1840 census, Henry W. Bedgood could have been a son of either Richard or Samuel Bedgood, but that is just a guess.
I do not show a marriage for Ben G. Glover and his wife Matilda, but think that there is some connection between this Glover family and the Bedgood's since they lived adjacent to each other in Emmanuel Co in 1850.
