Dear Ms Jackson,
in your posting you stated: "My great-grandfather's name was Asbury Bedgood. He was a light-skinned African American. As far as I know he was a free African American. I'm thinking that his parents were slaves....hence the name Bedgood."

Are you implying "Bedgood" is a black surname?

Sincerely,
Raymond Bedgood
