I was wondering if you have found any more information on James William Franklin Bedgood and Mattie Burns Tanner. I have found information on the Internet showing that Mattie Tanner was the daughter of Thomas J. Tanner and Susan Whiddon, and that Mattie's first husband was the son of Winifred Whiddon and a Burns. It seems that Winifred and Susan were sisters? Anyway, my husband is descended from William Whiddon and Mary Davis, the grandparents of Susan's father William, who was the son of Dempsey Whiddon, Sr. I am descended from Samuel Franklin Bedgood and I have notes showing that he and James William Franklin were brothers. I am not sure this is correct. I previously replied to your post about the Bedgoods, but at the time was not aware that James William Franklin's wife was a Whiddon descendent. There is also a connection between the Whiddons and my Thigpen ancestors through the Barwicks. I would be glad to share with you what I have found on the Whiddons, and would like any info you may have showing the parents of James William Franklin Bedgood. Do you know for sure if his father was John Bedgood,RS, of Washington Co.?
