Hello Beverly,
In your message you do not state if you have tried to do any research on your grandfather. You only state that you don't have any additional information on him.
If you have not done so, you need to go to your local library (a genealogical library is best) and see if they have (or if they can order for you) the 1880 and 1900 census micro-film reels for the county or counties where you think he was born and lived. If you don't have any dates for his birth or death (I assume you have none from a cemetery or death certificate), then I would start with the 1880 census and work through the 1900/1910/1920/1930 microfilm reels. You can go online and find out what counties you should be looking in.There are surname indexes in books at genealogical libraries if you can get to one in your area. That way you can try to find him easier as these index books will give the page number, etc. where he is listed in the census.
I won't go any further in explaining how to try to get more info on him since I do not know if you have gone to a library yet.
