How about:
Richard BIDGOOD of Romsey, Hampshire, Merchant, sailed from Southampton for Boston on "Confidence" 200 tons, London reg. Late April 1638.

Record from Family Tree Maker Site.

We don't know if the ship reached Boston, or where Richard went thereafter, but does suggest BIDGOODs were crossing the Atlantic in C17.
