Dear Wayne I hope you get to read this. I have had your notes for ages but could not find how to send you a message & as I am studying my masters & working my time has been limited. Therefore after that rhetoric I say a very big thankyou for your information.
You cannot imagine how long I have been looking for George Bedford. He is my great-grandfather. Albert Edward & Ena May are my paternal grand-father & grand-mother. I am the daughter of their youngest son Edward Charles. who I might add is still living.
Great-grandfather was the last in the heraldic line of younger sons in the Russell family [The dukedom of Bedford]. I have always wondered how we ended up with the name Bedford instead of keeping the family name Russell.
Dad's brothers [George & Daniel John], himself, my brother [Wayne] and male cousins ALL have the "complete" coat of alms above their doors. I so wanted one but never got one being a girl and all that. Yet I am probably more passionate about the "family History" of them all except perhaps for Vincent Bedford. Oh well Too bad.
My great Uncle George Earnest was coming out to Australia to see my grandfather and bring him some 'treasures' from home after their father [my great-grandfather] died.
As you said George Earnest died enroute. When the ship docked all Grand-father's possessions from the estate were stolen - vanished. Big Shame.
My email is: firstname.lastname@example.org Love to hear from you.
Again you will never how much that small piece of information meant to me. I sincerely thank you.
Patricia Mae Bedford.
