Hi, I just saw this email you posted along time ago, I hope this email reaches you. I am also researching this line of Bedford . Thomas Bedford born 1817 son of James Franklin Bedford and Martha Gore, moved from Alabama before 1850 or about, to Arkansas in the 1850 census was living Caddo Co. he may have died about 1857 or 1856, his wife Mary Ann Crews moved back to Alabama before 1858, she remarried to Jacob Gilbert in Talladega Co. Al. Her children are also listed in Clay Co.after the 1870 census.
children John W. Bedford born 1848 Al. ,Missouri J. born 1850 Arkansas, Louis Herod born 1852 Arkansas, Rufus J. born 1853 Ark.,Henretta born 1856. she is listed as a Bedford in the 1860 census, but listed as a Gilbert in the 1870 census . other children Walter Gilbert 1860 Al.,Mary 1862 Al. Joshua 1864 Al. Edward 1868 and Andrew J. 1870. My line is with John W. Bedford 1848. This family moved to tallapoosa Co. , shirlene
