Thomas Bedford was the son of Stephen Bedford Was born in Gloucester Co. ,Va.became a deputy sheriff of Cumberland Cty in 1748, county justice in 1749.On 25 Jan 1752 acquired 400 acres of land on So. side of James River in Cumberland Co.,Va.He conveyed these lands to Richard Ligon on 26 Apr 1760.Married Mary Ligon Coleman in 9-24-1750 and had 11 children. Married also Drucilla Williamson> I have childrens name of both marriages.
