Just to follow up my own message. I have made contact with another researcher of this family and am told that Hattie BEDFORD was not Indian. (so much for family stories). The family was of dark features, black hair, olive skin. Very educated people.

So, any one connecting to the following info, please email me and we can swap info.

Harriett "Hattie' BEDFORD b. 10-27-1848 Alabama d. ? Itawamba Co. Mississippi. married 1870 Lee Co. Mississippi to Martin H. COBURN .

Hattie is the daugter of William Thomas BEDFORD Sr b1796 Va and Mary Ann Jones.

William BEDFORD was first married to Mayzie DANCE (had 9 children) then married second to Mary Ann JONES had 11 children). .
