I hate to tell you this, but some of that sure sounds like it came directly from our book "The Bedford Family of Virginia and the descendants thereof" by Billy Ray Bedford & Luetta Bedford Kirker. Lucy couldn't be convinced that she had the name of Elizabeth incorrect, because someone has passed that incorrect information for years. They apparently assumed that her name was Mosby, because her daughter married a Mosby, her second marriage. We have Elizabeth Flippins will when it plainly states her son-in-law is Stephen Bedford. The Mosby's were also checked and no daughter Elizabeth was found of this age and location. Our book was published in 1994. Perhaps her illness made her grasp at the old information and hold on to it, her time was so limited. There is a cousin that worked on the Bedford family for 50 years and he was completely convinced that Elizabeth Mosby was incorrect. He was a Judge and a President of several Genealogy Societies and I am sure was well versed in how to serve and document his information. We had his papers available to us after his death. Luetta Bedford Kirker
