Harriett "Hattie" BEDFORD b. ? married on May 16 1870 in Lee Co. MS to Martin H. COBURN b. 1853. Martin was 17 yrs old when they married , her age is unkn. at this time.

Hattie BEDFORD (as per family stories) was Choctaw Indian. She may have been adopted and her named changed to Harriet BEDFORD. (her original Indian name is unknown). Her husband moved her to Texas and would not allow her to visit her family again....and she never did. Hattie recieved government papers informing her she could claim Indian lands in Oklahoma, her husband would not allow her to claim the land.

Hattie may have been born in Alabama, grew up in Itawamba Co. and Lee Co. Mississippi and died in Texas.
