We think that the Silas, born 28 Dec 1752, died 3 Aug 1834, Pine City, with wife, Anna, is the father of Samuel Beckwith, b.15 Feb 1781, in CT.Samuel married on 29 Oct 1809, in Pine City?, Chemung Co, NY Hannah English, daughter of John and Lydia (Westbrook) English.

Some have placed this Samuel as son of the Silas who fought in the Revolutionary War (D.A.R. application 686495), but he died in Crawfor Co., Illinois.
