Looking for information on Lord George Beckwith (Colonel in British Army) who married Harriet Snowball before November 1770 in Newcastle, Northumberland County, England.
Looking also for information on their only child, a son, George Beckwith, born November 1770 in Newcastle, Northumberland County, England. He was a lieutenant in King George's private regiment and body guard, being a resident of Yorkshire, England. He married Harriet Bowman on June 8, 1814 at Whittonstall, Northumberland County, England. Children of this union:
1. Robert Beckwith born 1820 in Stockton, Durham County, England. Died September 13, 1899 in Elgin, Kane County, Illinois, USA. Married Emma Vyse on March 22, 1845 in Trafalgar Township, Halton County, Ontario, Canada. Do not have burial location.
2. Mary Beckwith, born in Stockton, Durham County, England. Baptized May 4, 1817 in Grinsdale, Beaumont Parish, Carlisle, Cumberland County, England. Married(1) James Barton on May 9, 1838 in St. James Anglican, Toronto, York County, Ontario, Canada. Married (2)James Vyse between 1838 and 1845 probably in Ontario, Canada. 3. Harriet Beckwith, born January 1, 1821 in Carlisle, Cumberland County, England. Died November 15, 1893 in Windsor, Sandwich Township, Essex County, Ontario, Canada. Married Charles William Watkins on April 10, 1841 in Toronto Township, Peel County, Ontario, Canada. Do not have burial location.
4. Susannah Beckwith, born 1823 Stockton, Durham County, England. Baptized on September 17, 1831 at St. Mary's, Carlisle, Cumberland County, England. Died May 14, 1896 at Milton, Trafalgar Township, Halton County, Ontario, Canada. Married John Wallace on March 9, 1843 at St. James Anglican, Toronto, York County, Ontario, Canada. Do not have burial location.
5. Anne Beckwith, born 1827 in Stockton, Durham County, England. Baptized September 17, 1831 at St. Mary's, Carlisle, Cumberland County, England. Married Henry P. Thompson between 1827 and 1847 probably in Ontario, Canada. Alive at 1870 U.S. census in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, USA. Do not know anything after 1870.
6. Elizabeth Beckwith, born October 24, 1830 in Stockton, Durham County, England. Baptized October 26, 1833 at St. Mary's, Carlisle, Cumberland County, England. Died June 24, 1890 at Toronto, York County, Ontario, Canada. Married Thomas Elgie in 1848 probably in York County, Ontario, Canada. Do not have burial location.
7. George Thomas Beckwith, born 1830 in Stockton, Durham County, England. Baptized October 26, 1833 at St. Mary's, Carlisle, Cumberland County, England. Died January 1888 in Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado, USA. Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Collorado, USA. Married Angelina Evangelina Robinet between 1845 and 1856 probably in Ontario, Canada.
9. John Beckwith, died 1836. Killed in a storm at sea.
Family sailed from Stockton-on-Tees in the sailing ship "Adventure" in the early part of the year 1836.
