Hi,
I'm filling in the blanks on my family tree and I happened to discover that my GGG grandfather, Hugh McKay b.1789 d. 1840(son of Robert McKay of Scotland), married Elizabeth Beckwith b.1794 d.July 3,1879(d/o Ichabod Beckwith and Sussanha Whitney).Ichabod was a Sargeant of the Loyal American Legion. Wounded in leg, settled on the Miramichi River by 1788 until he died. His 1st land grant was lot 42 in the Micheau Survey and is still known as "Beckwiths Cove".He was a trooper in Col. Arnolds Reg. in the revolutionary war.He was a miller and owned 1/3 of the Saw Mill Tract N.W. Mill Stream, New Brunswick,Canada. Born1762 and died 1812.
