Looking for information on James Wilbur Beckwith who was adopted by the Trotman family in, I believe, Stewart Co. Georgia after the rest of his family died of a plague-like illness. Don't know his birthdate, but based on the birthdate of his first child, James was probably born in the late 1800's. The Trotmans and Beckwiths had farms next door to each other and when the rest of his family died, the Trotman's took James in and combined the two farms. He was my great-grandfather. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
