Mathew1 Beckwith was a farmer. The year of his birth is not known. His wife, Mary, was born ca. 1625. There were Beckwiths in the 1800s who built ships in the Niantic Bay area so there could be a Beckwith's Cove there. Regards, Virgil Huntley
