The descent from Lady Dame Beckwith Bruce is false. Please see Mahlon Erickson's post "Warning: The Beckwiths by Paul Beckwith on 6/28/99 where he discusses false descents. Mahlon has been publishing a quarterly Beckwith newsletter for many years and is one of the most knowledgable people around on the Beckwith family.
