I have been watching your conversations with Paul and I applaud you. You and Paul seem to have the same approach to genealogy research that I have adopted in that you use compiled genealogy as a guide only. I have found most of my family history to be false by researching original records.
This is certanly a slow method but if I am going to get it,it must be done right.
I have a group photo titled "The Bumpus family, Indian River Florada. 1895". I recognize my newborn father and his perents but none of the other 12 people. My grandperents traveled a lot but I have been unable to find any Bumpus's in that part of florida. In a recent post of yours it seemed to me that you may have some Bumpus/Florida information. Was there a Bumpus population in N.E. Florida? Father was Marlowe Bumpus b. Little Rock AR.,1895,his father,George James Bumpus b. Carthage MO. 1870 and his father Samuel Bumpus b. OH, 1844. Samuels father was born in NY.State. I have no other indication of relatives in Florida.
Thanks you, Marlow
