My ancestors arrived on the "SAMUEL" in 1732, from the passenger list, Oath of Allegiance and Declaration of Fidelity, we find that each male Beckley could read and write. Clerks who documented passengers arrival frequently phonetically spelled those names they could not understand, which gave us the many variances of BECKLEY, BOCHLE, BOCKHLE, BACKHLE, BECKHLE, BOCKLY, BERKLY, BOECHLE ect. Please forgive me if I ask you where you got the dates for HENRY BEACHLEY(?1732-1795) and HENRICH BOECHLE(?1716-1776). My records show that Henrich was 12 yrs old in 1732, making his DOB ~1720. I would be happy to share what information and documents I have. E-mail me if you are interested. Thank you.
