I understand that this john b. had at least 3 sons; 1] george washington beckley, who john named afer his boss, ( who is mmy gr. gr. grandfather) 2] /???? [maybe neville craig beckley] 3] alfred beckley...was a virginia commander general in civil war.....city of beckley, WV named for him.
I am decendent of george washington beckley, who lived in wayne county WV. I live in Wayne county also. I only know what my grandpa and pa told me about them. This summer, a betty beckley of beckley WV had an auction to auction off her family heirlooms....including some possessions of john beckley, alfred beckley, neville craig beckley, robert henry beckley.....she now lives with her sister in-law in spencer, WV[find her with phone search engine] she claims to be the last of the beckley line, but she will not [seemingly] tell why she thinks so.
