I tried to answer your e-mail- but it
did not go through. So will type this again
here - Jacob and Mary Beckley did not have
a son George - ther gad a son John George
and he did not have a son Lemuel.
Catherine Roller married Christopher Abel
and their son married Jacob Beckley's dau.
There has been a lot of misinformation sent
in to Utah on familysearch and genforum
that no one has ever corrected. Some people
put information that has never been proved
and that they are guessing at - they are
grasping at straws. I have been working
for over 50 years on this family - Jacob
Beckley was in Maryland then went to VA -
and came to Ohio in 1812 to land that was
in Jefferson Co. then Harrison Co. then
Carro;; Co., the boundaries were changed/
I live in Tuscarawas Co., next to Harrison
Carroll Counties, I have copies from the
Church records of the baptisms and sponsors
of the children born before the family came
to Ohio. Jacob's will does not mention any
son George - whoever wrote Mary's will put
inadvertionly a Beckley in John George's
name when they wrote the will - this has
really caused a big mess - along with
people grasping at straws instead of
researching fo the facts. Some of this
family went to Morgan Co., and Noble Co.,
and some lived in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio.
I hope this clarifies some of this for you.
