He left Germany in 1852-53 and came to America on the ship "Old England", landing in New Orleans on March 17, 1852 or 53 with his wife Anna Maria (Meyer)B: 1-24-1818 and chidren Johann Christian B:6-26-1836, Christine Carolina b:5-18-1839, Sofie Marie b:8-5-1841, Rosine Wilhelmine b:12-3-1846, Ernst Friedrich B:1-9-1850 & Rosina Meyer age 70 mother of wife.
