My gg grandfather William BECKER was born August 26, 1839 in Waltersdorf Markbrandenburg, Germany. He married twice with both wives dying leaving him with 8 children! His first wife was named Caroline SCHMIDT, but that is all I know. In 1884, he came to Minnesota with 3 children. One daughter, Augusta Marie Caroline BECKER was b. Nov. 7, 1861. She married Carl William August SCHMIEDEKE and came to Minnesota in 1887. At the time of William's death in 1929, he had a brother in Berlin and a son in France. Does this seem familiar to anyone?
