I have Johannes Becker who married an Anna Maria Scherg. I don't know if this is the right one.
Johann Christian Becker
Purchased several thousands of acres of land (along with Johannes Schaeffer) from Johannes Lawyer and John Depeyster in 1743, upon which he located their children. Becker and Schaeffer made a division of the same , on the 1st of December 1763. These two men became interested in several large tracks of land in different sections, especially the one lying in Carlisle and Cobleskill and designated as Becker’s Patent, also of one thousand, two hundred and forty-six acres, lying partly upon and to the west of Barton Hill, purchased February 5, 1772.
The stone house built by John Becker, was afterwards fortified as the middle fort. The cave, or place of concealment, formerly called " the committee hole," was on the opposite side of the river from Middleburgh, in a ravine between the mountains. The patriotic party assembled at Middleburgh, and began fortifying the stone house of John Becker, afterwards picketed in, and occupied as the middle fort.
